Summer is here, folks, and boy does it feel good. After 6 months of capsuling, I finally feel like I'm getting the hang of this thing (as evidenced by the fact that I actually used photoshop to put the grand reveal together this time around). As mentioned here, I took a slightly different approach to building my summer wardrobe than I have in seasons past. For one, I omitted most bold colors and prints, opting instead for a neutral palette and sleeker lines. I also added quite a few new pieces to the rack (15 to be exact), and while that number is HUGE and way more than I intended it to be, I'm okay with it. Of the 40 pieces I'll be wearing this season, 7 are new (2 purchased on super-clearance), 6 were thrifted for summer, 17 were rolled over from spring, 7 were pulled from storage, and 1 was hand knit by my grandmother (and is thus the coolest thing hanging in my closet). In the week that I've been wearing my summer clothes, I already feel more polished and put together than I have with my other two capsules. Will my satisfaction stay this way throughout all three months? Who knows - less variation in pattern and color could equal a faster decent into boredom, or this new found sleekness could sustain me all the way through fall. Regardless, these days I am very excited to get dressed in the morning.

In light of my push toward ethical, sustainable brands, I've linked to USA-made + ethical companies when possible (re: pricey). Consider them splurge items, or inspiration for your thrifting endeavors, whichever suits you!
